about
My consulting work has lead me down the most interesting path and continues to expose me to new things all the time. My core strength is in seeing the big picture and developing executable strategies and marketing plans for companies and non-profit organizations.
I really enjoy helping organizations grow. To do so, I draw upon my diverse experience across all functional areas of companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 100, and includes a variety of business models including non-profit, outsourcing, professional services, software, manufacturing and technology services.
These days, and since 2008, I have aligned myself with a couple of brilliant marketing services providers and it has been fun to be “on the other side” for a change. Currently, I am working with A Brand New Way assisting companies in making their brands truly interactive and something that evokes brand fanatics. ABNW is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible online and engaging audiences in a meaningful way.
I also work with BAF, A Clean Energy Company, who is leading the way in the natural gas vehicle industry. In addition to providing marketing support I also ran the due diligence efforts to sell the company to Clean Energy in 2009. What a great experience!
I also worked with a full-service ad agency, SmithGifford for more than two years. Together we did some amazing, award-winning work and blazed new trails in how to really use social media effectively.
In 2005 a consulting opportunity led me to a full-time position as vice president marketing for Approva Corporation, the leading pure-play provider of continuous controls monitoring (CCM) software. Into 2007 I led the marketing, product marketing and product management efforts and was instrumental in shaping the company’s strategy and product development lifecycle. I built an integrated marketing plan that yielded more than 10,000 qualified leads in just 10 months, and resulted in larger deal sizes, additional products to market and the highest analyst rankings. From 2007-2008 I led the business development function, splitting my time between proactively directing the diverse partner portfolio and managing M&A efforts and activities.
Before founding my consulting firm in 2003, I served as Sr. Vice President for San Francisco-based Bravanta (now Workstream), the technology leader in providing global Enterprise Incentive and Recognition (EIR) programs. I was responsible for all revenue and led multiple business functions to include: strategy, delivery, marketing, product management, engineering and sales support. Within my first 60 days of joining the start-up, I launched a Business Process Outsourcing model (BPO) and repositioned Bravanta within the EIR market space, speeding the company’s growth, closing $13.4 million in follow-on funding and securing industry awards including the 8th Fastest Growing Company in the Bay Area.
Prior to joining Bravanta in 2001, I was vice president marketing, E Solutions, Electronic Data Systems (now HP). While at EDS, I was a recognized leader across the enterprise and engaged senior executives, clients and sales teams outlining strategies on integrating technology, marketing and communication to capture revenue. As the architect of a new go-to-market support model for EDS, I was a leader in driving the highest growth trajectory organization within EDS.
Before joining EDS in 1995 as a Systems Engineer, I worked as a Marketing Manager and Information Technology Manger for TDM World Conversions (Troy Design), a Tier One automotive supplier in Michigan. Through my support of both engineering and manufacturing activities, I gained broad knowledge of alternative fuels, international regulations, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing operations.
I was born and raised in Michigan where I achieved national attention for my equestrian accomplishments. I returned home after receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University, and in 1997 moved back to Dallas where I lived until moving to San Francisco in 2001. In 2003 I moved east to the Washington, DC area where I split my time between dog trials, a few associations and non-profit groups.
